With Christmas and New Year around the corner, the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade has taken on a festive glow. More than 70 charity Christmas trees lined the bay, their lights forming a dazzling ribbon that signals the start of ChariTrees 2025 - the annual fundraiser that brings the season’s warmth to communities in need.
This year marks Wang Learning Centre’s fourth year sponsoring a charity tree at Marina Bay. Once again, we’re proud to stand with SPD (formerly Society for the Physically Disabled), continuing our commitment to meaningful, long-term support.
• About ChariTrees 2025 •
Running 14 November - 26 December 2025, ChariTrees transforms Marina Bay with a charity light display and interactive experiences, rallying support for four partner organisations:
• Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF), managed by The Rice Company Limited (TRCL), which supports arts access for underserved children and youth;
• SPD, which empowers people with disabilities through early intervention, therapy, assistive technology and employment support;
• Samaritans of Singapore (SOS), dedicated to emotional support and suicide prevention;
• Kidney Dialysis Foundation (KDF), providing long-term care for patients with kidney disease.
The fundraising target is S$1 million, with proceeds benefiting these long-standing charities.
• “Blossom of Hope” - 15th Anniversary Edition •
This year’s theme, “Blossom of Hope,” highlights how many small acts of giving can add up to real change - especially when the whole community moves together. Marking its 15th edition, ChariTrees has become a signature year-end charity event in Singapore, drawing growing participation from companies, artists, and the public.
At the recent lighting ceremony, former President Halimah Yacob officiated as Guest-of-Honour, recognising the event’s role in nurturing a culture of care and calling on the public to lend a hand during the festive season.
• Our Fourth Year Lighting a Tree for SPD •
From 2022 to 2025, Wang Learning Centre has supported the Marina Bay charity tree initiative and championed SPD’s mission. Established in 1964, SPD helps children and youth with special needs through early intervention and education support, and empowers persons with disabilities with therapy services, assistive technology, training and job placement - so they can live more independently and meaningfully.
This year, our sponsored tree quickly became a favourite stop for families and children - one more reminder that festive light can also ignite generosity.
• Visit & Support •
The charity trees remain on display at Marina Bay until 26 December. We invite you to visit the promenade, enjoy the lights, learn more about the beneficiary organisations, and - if you can - support their work through the official platforms.
As a long-standing, trusted Chinese tuition centre in Singapore, Wang Learning Centre believes education is about building character and community, not just grades. We’re grateful to stand alongside partners who make a real difference - and we’ll continue to give back, season after season.
